Accountants require a Standard DBS check, under the terms of the 1974 Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, as they are often consulted in an advisory capacity.Â

Carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Standard checks are the middle level of three levels of DBS check in the UK. Â
A Standard DBS check shows details of both spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings that are held on the Police National Computer.Â
